Starting on January 4th, morning classes begin at 8:03 AM instead of 8:04 AM. All classes are shortened by one minute; classes last for 43 minutes instead of 44 minutes. Additionally, the school day is lengthened by four minutes at the end of the day. Students are dismissed from school at 3:36 PM instead of 3:32 PM. By making these minor changes to the schedule, enough time will be gained during the day for juniors to participate in the 43 minute prep sessions that will run every day from January 4th until March 8th. Juniors that are involved in the School-to-Work Program are required to adjust their work schedules to ensure they are in school every day until 3:36 PM for ACT Prep. Students in grades 7-10, and grade 12, will have extended Flex periods while the juniors are doing ACT prep sessions.
In addition to changing the bell schedule, we also make an important adjustment on the day of the ACT® Plus Writing Exam, March 9th. Students in grades 9, 10, and 12 will not report to school on March 9th. In order to test students in small groups, we utilize all high school staff as test proctors. We make sure no other distractions are going on in the school that day. Please note that students in grades 7 and 8 will report to school on March 9th. All students in grades 7-12 will report to school on March 10th.
Mr. Moody's letter in its entirety was sent via school messenger and handed out to in person students.
