3rd graders from Coloma Elementary had a field trip to Historic Pt. Basse in Nekoosa. There, they learned what it was like to live on the Wisconsin River during the 1800's. They visited a one room schoolhouse, a working blacksmith shop, and a cabin. They also had the opportunity to play some old fashioned games and make their very own candle. #Pioneers

Last month Coloma Elementary hosted Breakfast with Books—a morning filled with tasty pancakes and page-turning adventures! Students and families came together to enjoy a warm breakfast and attend the book fair, making it a delightful start to the day. #Pioneers

On May 1st, Coloma’s Kindergarten and 2nd grade classes embarked on an exciting adventure to Madison! The weather cooperated beautifully. Kindergarteners had a blast exploring the zoo and discovering different animals. Meanwhile, 2nd graders were able to attend a critter experience and then stepped back in time at the UW Geology Museum, where they marveled at incredible dinosaur fossils. It was a day full of learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories! #Pioneers

Coloma Elementary's Read Across America week was a week to remember! #Pioneers

Last week Dr. Otto and her assistant Jen from Noble Dentistry came to Coloma Elementary to talk about dental hygiene to Ms. Parker's Kindergartners. Students read some books about how to take care of your teeth, were able to brush the mouth model with a huge toothbrush, and learned about different dental words. Students were inspired to continue to take good care of their teeth with a new toothbrush they got to take home! #Pioneers

The CHAMPS group hosted shopping at Santa’s Secret Shop this past week at Coloma Elementary. Items were low and cost for students to have the opportunity to bring in some money to buy gifts for their families. Our 5th grade student council members were great helpers with shopping and wrapping! #Pioneers

CHAMPS provided a Science Assembly at CES the day before Thanksgiving break. Professor Norm came for an Amazing Science show for all grades! #Pioneers

Is your child interested in singing, dancing, and/or acting? Have them spend the morning learning about what it's like to be in a musical from the cast of "Beauty and the Beast"! On Saturday, October 19th from 8:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M., we invite any interested students in grades K-5 to come to our first annual Kid's Camp! We will learn the music and dance to "Be Our Guest", play theater games, read a story, and have a snack! Students who participate in the camp will also be invited to perform at the Understudy Performance on Saturday, November 9th at 1:00 P.M., with a dress rehearsal and a provided lunch with the cast on Saturday, November 9th from 9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.! Please send your child in tennis shoes, clothes they can move in, and with a water bottle. Note: If you have more than 1 student who is planning to participate, please fill out a form for each child. If the $5 is a burden, scholarships are available.
