This past week select students from the WHS attended the Prostart career and industry expo held in Lake Geneva at the Grand Geneva Resort. They were able to meet with people from throughout Wisconsin that are in the hospitality industry. The group was able to experience hands-on demonstrations from top chefs from around the state and in one session they were able to create their own Pico De Gallo in a challenge against 13 other groups. These students did not disappoint with their creation taking top standing in the room for flavor and balance. Way to go! The students got to tour the resort seeing many rooms and the architecture that was created by Frank Lloyd Wright. They toured the many floors of this resort's kitchens from the baking departments to the grills, the students got to see it all. The Prostart program is part of the Wisconsin Restaurant Associations department of education that offers students experiences in the industry and areas of different studies in hospitality and tourism. #Pioneers
