The Marquette County Land & Water Conservation Department hosted the Annual Conservation Poster Contest. This contest is designed to teach students about conservation, while promoting research and art. All the students did a good job designing posters on topics that varied on issues affecting our natural resources.

Two 5th grade Student's from Westfield Elementary School have won 2nd and 3rd place in the Marquette County Poster Contest. All fifth grade students participated in the contest to promote water conservation in their local community. In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. the 1st graders at Westfield Elementary brought in donations to make Birthday Boxes to give to the Food Bank in Marquette County. It is important to remember one of Dr. King's messages..."Life's most persistent and urgent question is, " What are you doing for others?"

Mrs. Fenske's 1st Grade Class worked on a Rock Investigation last week. They brought in rocks from home and discussed their color, texture, luster, and other interesting qualities.

Students in Mrs. Wagner's Library had the chance to have their voice's heard in an Oreo Election last week - they practiced filling out ballots, dropping their vote into a ballot box, and even getting a fun 'I Voted' sticker!
The winning flavor will be brought in for a snack for all of WES this week.

Westfield Area High School Science Club students partnered with Mrs. Kittleson and Ms. Halverson’s second graders from Westfield Elementary for spooky Halloween Chemistry activities! Students explored science by creating bubbling potions, oozing pumpkins, and eerie lights. #Pioneers

Fourth graders in Mrs. Francis‘s class have been working on writing complete sentences with subjects and predicates. In a recent activity, students worked collaboratively to identify complete sentences and fragments to be complete sentences.
