Bowls for Hunger:

A Tradition of Generosity: Another Successful Year for Bowls for Hunger

For more than 25 years, Bowls for Hunger has been a cherished tradition in the School District of Westfield—bringing together students, staff, local businesses, and community members to support families facing hunger across Marquette, Waushara, and Adams counties.

What began in 1997 as a small Art Club service project has grown into a major community effort. This year, Bowls for Hunger raised $10,516, surpassing last year’s total of $9,840. Attendees enjoyed over 70 gallons of soup, including four varieties made by our students and ten donated by local restaurants, many of which also provided servers for the event. Students created 650 handmade bowls for attendees, continuing a long tradition of creativity and service.

The event’s success reflects the dedication of our clubs and programs—including the Art Club, Student Councils, NHS, FFA, FCCLA, and WAMS Student Council. Over the years, more than 16,000 handmade bowls have been distributed, with over a thousand students and staff contributing to this effort.

Bowls for Hunger continues to embody the heart of our community—supporting neighbors in need while teaching compassion, collaboration, and service. Thank you to everyone who made this year’s event another remarkable success. Together, we continue to make a meaningful impact, one bowl at a time.

Enrollment Study Update

Strong enrollment depends on so much more than population trends alone. It grows from the collective efforts of our families, local government partners, businesses, faith-based organizations, and civic groups in every township, village, and city within—and beyond—our district boundaries.

We are grateful for the shared commitment that makes the School District of Westfield a place where students thrive.
