Bill Harris from Renewable World Foundation visited the 8th grade science classrooms and gave “shocking” presentations about energy. He covered the topic of renewable energy such as wind, solar, and hydroelectricity. Energy from the sun was used to light coal on fire that couldn’t be lit with a lighter. He brought in a bicycle that students used to compare the advantages of LED light bulbs compared to incandescent bulbs. They experienced the energy it took to power both types. It was very clear that much more energy was required to light incandescent lights! The bike was also used to charge a battery that cooked Ramen noodles for the class. His knowledge, hands on experiences, and ENERGY were ELECTRIC! #Pioneers

Congrats to the Track and Field team on great showings at New Lisbon Saturday. The girls team even brought home second place as a team! Lots of top finishes as well!
