The Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) recognized Mary Goldsmith, High School Custodian for the School District of Westfield, as the recipient of one of four 2024 WASBO Custodian/Maintenance Professional of the Year Awards on March 3, 2025, during the 2025 Facilities Management Conference at the Kalahari Convention Center. The Custodian & Maintenance Professional of the Year Award — sponsored by SERVPRO — acknowledges the outstanding contributions of those who are making a difference to their local school district, community, and the custodial and maintenance profession. Goldsmith is being recognized for her outstanding dedication, professionalism, and commitment to her school community. Her nomination letters state that with more than 20 years of service, Goldsmith goes above and beyond daily, ensuring the building is immaculate, assisting staff and students, and fostering meaningful relationships with everyone she meets. She is a trusted leader, known for her reliability, problem-solving skills, and deep care for students. Whether helping with events, mentoring students with special needs, or chaperoning school trips, her presence is invaluable. This team also has set the record for most wins in a season in boys basketball history at 20 in counting as well as longest winning streak in 30 years at nine to finish the regular season! For the first time since 1986 your Pioneers Boys Basketball Team is Conference Champions!!!! This is also their first ever South Central Conference Title. The team also set the program record for most wins in a season last night with 20, and also are on a 9 game winning streak heading into the post season which is the longest in over 25 years!!
